Explore Central Australia with confidence
When booking through Tourism Central Australia, customers receive unlimited kilometres with a minimum one-day hire.
Choose from a wide range of passenger vehicles, SUVs, 4WDs, minibuses and commercial vehicles suited to everything from local sightseeing to extended outback journeys.
2WD and small SUV vehicles must remain on sealed roads only and are not permitted on beaches.
Medium SUV AWD vehicles may travel on the Mereenie Loop, Ernest Giles Road and Rainbow Valley.
Large 4WD vehicles are permitted on the Mereenie Loop Road, Gibb River Road and Spring Creek Track, making them ideal for more adventurous travel. Damage Recovery Fees cannot be reduced for travel on these roads.
Travel is not permitted to certain remote and restricted areas including Mitchell Plateau, Kalumburu, Arnhem Land, the Tanami Road, Canning Stock Route, Jim Jim Falls, Twin Falls, Cape Leveque, Cable Beach, 80 Mile Beach, Gunbarrel Highway, Plenty Highway, Donohue Highway and the Strzelecki Track.
For safety reasons, travel outside town or city limits between sunset and sunrise is not permitted.

Premium Location Surcharges may apply at airport and resort locations.
Please advise your preferred collection and return location when booking, as one-way fees may apply.
Complimentary hotel pick-up may be available during office hours on request.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation of 4WD, bus and commercial vehicle reservations within 14 days of rental may incur a $330 cancellation fee.
For conventional vehicle reservations outside 7 days from pick-up for Darwin, Alice Springs and Ayers Rock, there is no cancellation fee.
For cancellations made within 7 days of pick-up for Darwin, Alice Springs and Ayers Rock, a $220 cancellation fee may apply.
Cancellation policy is at the discretion of the Branch Manager.
