The Alice Springs Airport Tourism Gala 2018 was held at the Star of Alice Function Centre on Saturday 27 October, 2018. Minister Dale Wakefield joined guests for a colourful, fun-filled night celebrating the incredible achievements of the Central Australian tourism and hospitality industry over the last year. Guests were entertained by Xavia, Benny Heaslip and Malarkey, and the evening was emceed by the witty and hilarious Meredith Kattenhorn (Mez) from Alice in the Territory. Guests were also treated to the brand new beer from Alice Springs Brewing Co (their Summer Ale), Zontes Prosecco by Wine Direct, delicious cocktails from the cocktail caravan of House of Tallulah and a diverse range of delightful food and drinks from Reality Bites Catering.

The winner of the Barry Bucholtz Award was chosen by the Tourism Central Australia Board, all other awards were judged by an independent judging panel, consisting of Dave Batic (General Manager, Alice Springs Airport), Renton Kelly (Advisor Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet and TCA Life Member) and Lauren Ganley (Chief Executive Officer, Desert Knowledge Australia).
