ABOUT US
Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Tour is proudly owned and operated by Christine Breaden, a Traditional Owner, alongside her partner Peter Abbott. They reside in Wanmarra, a small Aboriginal community 450 km southwest of Alice Springs. This community shares its southeastern boundary with the Watarrka National Park, precisely 36 km from the eastern entrance of Kings Canyon Resort and the Rim Walk.
Our cultural tour offers a one-hour walking experience on the traditional lands of the Wanmarra family group. During this intimate journey, we share insights into Luritja and Pertame (Southern Arrernte) languages and culture. Visitors can learn about bush tucker, medicinal plants, spears, boomerangs, music sticks, and native seed jewellery up close. It's a hands-on experience that encourages you to see, feel, and truly connect with the culture.
This tour is ideal for families, students, educational groups, independent travellers, inbound operators, and seniors. We provide shaded display areas with seating for your comfort. To reach Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience, you will travel a 2 km unsealed road from the Luritja Highway directly across from the Kings Creek Station.
