The Women's Museum of Australia celebrates and commemorates the achievements of women in Australian history across seven permanent exhibitions. Situated in the heritage listed Old Alice Springs Gaol, you can also explore what life was like for inmates and those who worked there.

Description
A museum of national importance founded in 1993 by Molly Clark from Old Andado Station, the Women's Museum of Australia (WMoA) celebrates the achievements of women in Australia's history. Permanent exhibitions include, 'Ordinary Women/ Extraordinary Lives - Women First in Their Field'; the Signature Quilt; 'Women at the Heart'; and the Aviatrix Tapestry' WMOA is located at the Old Alice Springs Gaol. The Gaol buildings are open to visitors and gaol stories are told in a complimentary booklet and exhibition, illustrating life in the gaol.
Buildings are wheelchair accessible, (except the Clinic) and accessible facilities are located in the main Exhibition Hall. Visitors see two unique heritage attractions at one great location.

An easy 10min walk from the centre of town, it's located at 2 Stuart Terrace, next to the Royal Flying Doctors Service Tourist Facility and across the road from the Reptile Centre and Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation.
