Hear from Ursula Raymond and Dean Parkin as a part of the talks program at Parrtjima 2023.
Born and raised in Darwin, Ursula Raymond still resides on Larrakia country. Her heritage is both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, with extended family and cultural connections across the Territory, as well as in other parts of Australia. Ursula’s career has spanned more than 30 years as a broadcaster, journalist, policy adviser, political adviser and community organiser. Ursula has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne and is studying a Bachelor of Law at Charles Darwin University.
Dean Parkin is the Director of the Yes Campaign Alliance which aims to achieve a successful referendum on Indigenous constitutional recognition through a Voice. He has consulted across the public, corporate, and not-for-profit sectors at national, regional and local levels. In addition, he has advised a range of clients on strategy, engagement and co-design, and has commercial experience in Australia and the UK. A Senior Fellow of the Atlantic Fellowship for Social Equity, Dean is an ex-officio member of the Business Council of Australia’s Indigenous Engagement Taskforce.
