One of music’s most inspiring Indigenous role models, Emily Wurramara is an AIR award-winning and six-time Queensland Music Award winner. Her critically acclaimed 2018 album, Milyakburra, features the emotive Lady Blue (more than 6.5 million Spotify streams) and Black Smoke, which amassed more than 1.2 million Spotify streams, rotation on Triple J and ABC Local, and 10 weeks in the AMRAP charts.
Hailing from Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, the singer/songwriter educates, informs and inspires in both English and Anindilyakwa languages. Emily has performed on many national and global stages including Woodford Folk Festival, Byron Bay Bluesfest, Garma, BIGSOUND and International Folk Alliance showcases in Kansas, Canada and New Orleans. She has also toured and played with iconic artists including Archie Roach, Missy Higgins, Shellie Morris, Jessica Mauboy, The Cat Empire and John Butler.
