Parrtjima | Music | Docker River Band

Details

From the small remote community of Kaltukatjara (Docker River) 230km west of Uluru, The Docker River Band consists of Roy Jugadai (guitar and vocals), Albert Porter (keys and vocals), Thaddeus Mitchell (keys and vocals), Peter Bennett (bass) and Dion Bell (drums). They combine dreamy vocals with the smooth sounds of desert reggae, with lyrics in their Pitjantjatjara language and English.

Inspired by country and a deep connection to culture and song, they sing about life in their community, and hope for the next generation. With several tours and a sold-out headline shows under their belt, the band has performed at several festivals, including Giiyong Festival, Bush Bands Bash, Wide Open Space Festival, Closing of the Climb, All One Under the Sun and Freedom Day Festival. Their debut album will be released in 2023.

We look forward to them joining us at Parrtjima 2023.

Venue: Gathering Ground, Parrtjima Hub, Desert Park

Entry to music performances will be on a first-come, first-served basis so make sure you arrive early.
