Discover superb dot paintings and watercolours by some of Australia’s most successful Aboriginal artists at private and collectively owned galleries in Alice Springs or venture further afield to community art centres to see artists at work and listen to them talk about their paintings.

 

 

Is Alice Springs Safe to visit?

There are opportunities to visit art studios, join paper making workshops on a cattle station and purchase unique arts and crafts made by the Traditional Owners at Uluru. Be inspired by the Central and Western Desert peoples, trace the visual heritage and stunning craft of the Papunya Tula and Utopia artists. Travel to Hermannsburg, a Lutheran mission now returned to the Aboriginal people and once home to Albert Namatjira, where his originals are still on display.

Dotted throughout the town of Alice Springs you will find amazing Aboriginal artworks, jewellery and crafts. The Araluen Arts Centre, a hub of the visual arts scene, exhibits collections from both local and Australian artists. The Albert Namatjira Gallery is sure to amaze with paintings by this most famous of Aboriginal artists.
