Kings Creek Station

12725 Luritja Road, Peterman, Northern Territory

Kings Creek Station is a cattle station with genuine outback hospitality offering visitors an authentic glimpse of the lifestyle, history and landscape of outback Central Australia.
There is a range of accommodation to suit all styles of travel with facilities for camping, basic bush tent accommodation, and the unique luxurious Dreamtime Escarpment glamping.

Kings Creek Station was established in 1981 by Ian and Lyn Conway. This was originally vacant crown land with no infrastructure - no water, no electricity, no communications, no roads. Originally the vision was to run the Station as a cattle property however Ian and Lynne's natural flair for hospitality has since seen tourism develop as a major part of the station. Kings Creek Station still runs cattle and exports camels.

We invite you to come hear our story, admire the land and experience our warm outback hospitality.

Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience

Wanmarra Community, Luritja Road, Northern Territory

Immerse yourself in a truly authentic Aboriginal cultural experience. A Karrke cultural tour will allow you to see, feel and experience aboriginal culture up close.

Learn about native bush tucker and medicine and traditional hunting and gathering techniques, see impressive spear and boomerang displays and learn our language.

Karrke is owned and operated by Christine Breaden and Peter Abbott who live in a small Aboriginal Community called Wanmarra, population (10) which is located inside the Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon).

We came up with this business as a way to preserve our Luritja and Pertame (Southern Arrernte) languages, cultural knowledge and heritage. This enables us to pass on our Aboriginal knowledge to younger generations and enrich our visitors experience of our country.

Karrke is the name for Western Bowerbird in the Arrente language, which we have used to name our company- Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience.

We operate 10 months of the year from mid-January to mid November.

Guests also have the opportunity to purchase our local arts and crafts.
