Corroboree Billabong is part of the Mary River Wetlands and apart from teeming with birdlife it also has the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world.

View these prehistoric creatures in their natural environment swimming around the billabong and relaxing on the banks as we cruise past.

The birdlife here is fantastic and you will see a huge variety of species such as Jabiru, Jacana, Ibis, Brolga, Egret, Kite, Sea Eagle, Magpie Geese, and many others.

Wetland cruises has been established by an operator who has over 25 years experience in the tourism industry.

Enjoy a cruise on the stunning Wetlands of the Mary River and get up close & personal to a great variety of birds and crocodiles in their natural habitat as you enjoy a 1.5 hour or 2.0 hour wetland cruise.

Directions

Corroboree Billabong is the closest location to Darwin where you can do a cruise on our spectacular wetlands and you can drive yourself there from Darwin ( 75 - 90 minutes).


To get there travel along the Arnhem Highway to Corroboree Park Tavern, which is located 85km from Darwin and 167km from Jabiru. The turn off from the Arnhem Highway to Corroboree Billabong is on the left just 1 km past Corroboree Park Tavern (heading towards Kakadu). It is 20 km from the Arnhem Highway turnoff to the cruise at Corroboree Billabong and the last 4 km is on a well-maintained gravel road. Wetland Cruises pontoon is located on the bank of the billabong. There is seating, fans and wifi available on the pontoon.

If you do not wish to drive on an unsealed road you can take our shuttle from Corroboree Park Tavern to the cruise and back. Please select the 'cruise with shuttle' option if this is your preference.

Cancellation Policy

Cruises cancelled within 24 hours of departure attract a 100% cancellation fee. Tours cancelled between 24 -48 hours prior to departure attract a 50% cancellation fee. Tour cancelled outside 48 hours from departure attract a 25% cancellation fee. In the event of cancellations made within 14 days of travel due to Covid19 lockdowns and passengers being unable to travel or if travel will result in a quarantine period cancellation fees will not be applied.
