The James Range Camels formerly known as Camels Australia was the first Camel Farm to be established in Central Australia in Alice Springs in the early 1980’s by the Camel legend Noel Fullerton.

The James Range Camels are nestled at the base of the ranges 90km south of Alice Springs on the Stuart Highway at Stuart’s Well. Offering daily short rides through to unique overnight experiences there is something to suit everyone in our seasonal program to explore the many wonders of Central Australia and share in the authentic lifestyle of long term local Camaleers and their family of 45 Dromedary Camels.

Only an hours drive from Alice Springs, it provides locals and visitors a great spot to get away for the day or call in on your travels. The Hoosh Cafe offers a fresh menu and locally roasted Barista coffee, plus Retail , Souvenirs, Local art, Craft and Culture.

Due to Covid19 we are only offering some of the Camel Tour programs this season with hope that we can offer the full program and our grassed Campground again in 2021.
