Spring into Alice - Art & Culture
The rich mixture of art and culture in Alice Springs, is that of which you will find nowhere else. You’ll find yourself wandering around for days on end visiting every quirky little shop, gallery and museum that tells the stories of our incredible landscape, the ancient geology, the history of the Aboriginal people and creation stories, as well as the early settlers.
A morning stroll through the Todd Mall in the CBD will uncover a treasure trove of Aboriginal art galleries, showcasing a wide range of styles from all over Central Australia, which the region is world renowned for. Here you can also find a great range of handcrafted jewellery, gifts and unique souvenirs to take home. You wont get much further until you hit the historic precinct, where you can take a self-guided walk through time and experience the early settler history of Alice Springs.
While you’re there, visit the Araluen Art Centre where you will find permanent and rotating art exhibitions, and stay the evening to check out the latest performing arts show or arthouse film.
There’s no shortage of places to soak up the arts and culture in Alice, and experiencing one of our world class festivals or events. Head to our events page to see what’s coming up soon!
