The Song Keepers

A Desert Song Festival 2018 premiere of the extraordinary documentary- 'The Song Keepers'.

This moving record of the story of the Central Australian Aboriginal Women's Choir and their historic tour of Germany in 2015. After record-breaking seasons at the Melbourne and Darwin International Film Festivals, and popular screenings across Australia, 'The Song Keepers' comes home to Central Australia and to the Desert Song Festival.

The exclusive screening will be followed by a brief performance and Q&A opportunity with the producers and cast!

With bold, artistic innovation, the rich, musical traditions of Africa, India, the Americas and Central Australia will combine to showcase "What a Wonderful World!– celebrating global heritage". Singers, musicians and audiences will be united in this sixth annual celebration of cultural diversity and artistic brilliance in Central Australia.

Over 10 glorious days the Desert Song Festival 2018, brings a myriad of concerts, workshops and masterclasses presenting choirs, musicians, small vocal ensembles and solo performers, in a celebration of; the singer, the song, the instrument, the land and its people.
