Alice Springs Heritage Festival

Friday 21st April - Sunday 30th April

The Australian Heritage Festival is Australia's biggest annual community-driven heritage festival. Join the National Trust in celebrating Australia's cultural heritage, through talks, tours, exhibitions and events across the NT. The Festival provides an opportunity for communities, individuals, local governments and organisations to celebrate the places and events that have shaped our heritage.

The Heritage Festival in Alice Springs is a week-long celebration of local heritage that encompasses many of the distinct heritage listed sites throughout the town.

- Jailhouse Folk is a night of Aussie music, come and enjoy a meal and show at the National Pioneer Women's Hall of Fame.

- The Old Hartley Street School Open Day - come in and experience the schoolroom of a past era.

- Heritage Night at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station - experience the atmosphere of yesteryear with activities and displays or, try your hand at sending a Morse code telegram.

The 2017 Australian Heritage Festival theme is 'Having a Voice' and we invite communities across the NT to tell their stories and recognise the many narratives that have shaped the NT. Our shared heritage is rich with voices from many cultures – 'Having a Voice' is about taking time to stop and listen to stories from every corner of our society.
