Travelling into the NT

For all current NT government travel advice visit

From 22 November 2021, only those people who are fully-vaccinated against COVID-19 will be permitted to enter the Northern Territory. This does not apply to those people unable to be vaccinated, like children under 12 years. Unvaccinated Territory residents travelling will still be able to enter the NT but will be required to test and isolate.

Home quarantine

  • From 22 November 2021, fully-vaccinated domestic arrivals coming to the Northern Territory from a declared COVID-19 red zone and international arrivals will be permitted to undertake seven days home quarantine.

  • From 20 December 2021, fully-vaccinated arrivals to the Northern Territory will not be required to quarantine. A testing regime will remain in place for arrivals from declared red zones.

  • All arrivals into the Northern Territory, no matter where they are travelling from, will be required to have a COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test upon arrival.

Travelling from NT into another state

Please be aware of travel border restrictions if you plan on reentering the NT. Make sure you have all the correct travel permits before embarking on your travels.
