The Goldfields Hotel Motel is centrally located in downtown Tennant Creek, offering you convenience to shopping, banking and the post office.

Our two pubs and dining room provide food and beverage service 7 days a week and our 24 motel rooms have been recently refurbished with; new tiled floors, beds, bedding as well as curtains. Our bottle shop provides takeaway 7 days a week.

The Charles Eaton Bar features a Gaming Room with Pokies and Keno. The bar is family friendly, with Large Screen TV's, Pool Tables, Juke Box Video . The Bar opens up to the Shaded Patio.

Home of the 8 Ball Tournament. Features Pool, of course, and Large Screen TV's showing the sporting events of the day. Keno play also provided.

Tennant Creek's unique gold mining history is brought to life. Heritage equipment and vehicles in the grounds. Three Museum exhibits - Social History, Borella ANZAC story, McLaughlin Minerals Collection.
Discover the history, science and thrill of gold mining in Tennant Creek and the Barkly.

The Battery Hill Mining Centre is the site of the historic No 3 Government Gold Stamp Battery, where it all started with the 1930's outback gold rush. The centre overlooks the town and the surrounding countryside.

Enjoy an underground mine tour (costs apply). Wander through three museum exhibits:
• "Freedom, Fortitude and Flies", a look at social life on the goldfields during the early formative years;
• The McLaughlin Minerals Collection, a spectacular array of mineral samples both local, and from around the world
• "100 Years ANZAC Spirit-Albert Borella VC", a journey from Tennant Creek to Darwin and the Western Front.

Self-guided nature walks and static machinery displays are found around the site .

The Battery Hill Mining Centre is 1½ kilometres from the Tennant Creek town centre along Peko Road. The centre also houses the Tennant Creek Visitor Information Centre.


Nyinkka Nyunyu Art and Culture Centre

Nyinkka Nyunyu (pronounced ny-ink-a ny-oo ny-oo) is a fascinating and unique art, culture and interpretive centre, which offers visitors the opportunity to learn about Aboriginal life, history and land in the Tennant Creek region.

Sitting on Warumungu land, the centre's focus is the sacred creation site of the Nyinkka (spiky tailed goanna). View the informative three-dimensional displays created by Warumungu artists, reflecting their rich and diverse history. Learn about bush tucker and traditional medicines from the comprehensive display of bush foods.

For a deep cultural experience, entry to the museum includes an audio tour, which also takes you through the aridzone gardens, interpreting the plants and the landscape through Aboriginal eyes. Follow your tour with a relaxing visit to Jajjikari Cafe, renowned for good coffee, then browse the local artwork, crafts, books and CDs in the retail area.
