The Alice Springs School of the Air Visitor Centre is a multi-award winning interpretive centre located 3.5km from the CBD, which offers visitors from around the globe a virtual journey into "The World's Largest Classroom".
Since 1951 it has provided an educational resource for isolated school children, servicing an area of over 1.3 million square kilometres.
The visitor experience includes a film and guided presentations that reveal stories about the school and its students, sharing a distinctive history, insights into outback lifestyles and showcases world-renowned innovations of this uniquely Australian school.
Take the opportunity to visit Alice Springs School of the Air and be inspired by what has been and continues to be one of the most distinctive methods of education in the world.
All funds raised in the visitor centre directly support student enrichment programs.
Last entry is at 4pm daily. Closed Good Friday and from Christmas Day to New Year's Day inclusive.

Adult- $11.00 / Child (5-16years)- $8.50 / Family (2 adults & 2 children)- $25.00 / Family (2 adults & up to 4 children)- $30.00

Map & Directions
The Alice Springs School of the Air Visitor Centre is located approximately 3.5km north of the Alice Springs CBD.
By Car -Travel north along the Stuart Highway and turn left into Head Street. Continue 1km, just past the Braitling Primary School.
By public bus-
The 100 & 101 local bus departs the CBD, opposite the GPO, and stops at our door (Monday to Saturday only, no Sunday or public holiday service)
A leisurely 40min walk from the CBD following the same route as for driving or via the Riverside Track & west along the paths from the Telegraph Station.
Hire a bike and take the same route options as for walking.
